Finally!!!

Well, I am back. Sorry work has been a little crazy as of late.

So my quest to removed myself from the Mormon Church is complete. I received my letter dated January 13, 2009 saying that I was no longer a member of the church. It took about 45 days to complete the process, and while I was not hesitant at all in my decision making, I did wonder if I would feel any different. Would I be smote down? Would I break out in boils? Well, I did feel different. I felt like a huge weight, that I had been carrying around for way too long had been lifted.

I had been battling with the thought of doing it for many years, but it was not until I received a threatening phone call from some religious zealot of a Stake President, that I finally stepped up and did it. If baffles me, the Mormons fled the Midwest amid religious persecution, and there they were persecuting me. I have respect for them and for my family and friends that are still members, but why do I want anything to do with a church that treats me like a second class citizen. It is hard enough being treated like one by our lawmakers. I only hope that I can be an example to those who are looking to free themselves from the ties that bind.

And in other news. My little brother Eric and his wife Jessica are expecting a baby girl any day now. My little brother Zach and his wife Alisa are expecting a baby boy in April. My sister Erin is remarried with two new step sons. Been and will continue to be a busy time for my family.
