It's A Coming....I Hope

I found this on KUTV.com. It is nice to see that not all politicians in Utah don't have their heads crammed up their asses:

The Salt Lake County Council has approved a proposal to give benefits to the domestic partners and adult live-in relatives of county employees.

The changes were approved on a 6-3 vote on Tuesday and will be formally adopted at next week's council meeting.

Democratic Councilwoman Jenny Wilson has been pushing for the changes since 2005 shortly after she took office. Wilson says she's surprised it took as long as it did to approve the proposal and that some county employees will benefit immediately.

The proposal's chances for success got a boost after the November election, when the council's makeup changed to a Democratic majority. One Republican, Max Burdick, also voted for the change.
